BAPTISM & COMMUNION

Baptism

Through water at baptism, God embraces you — no matter who you are — and brings you into Christ's Church. When we baptize, we explain that the waters of baptism call forth the blessing already inside each person, granted to all through God’s gift of life. When baptizing an infant or child, the family promises to raise the child to be a reflection of God’s love and to follow in the way of Jesus. The church also promises to love, support, and care for you throughout your life. Baptisms take place during our Sunday service where these promises are shared. To arrange a baptism, please call the church office at 508-693-2842 or email make an appointment with the Minister.

Communion

We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month and during special services throughout the year. Our communion table is open to all no matter where you are on your faith journey. As we gather for this meal, we open ourselves to the presence of Jesus. Together we recall God’s loving acts, we experience our oneness in Christ and hope for a time when all will be fed. Our tradition is to have the Deacons serve the bread, and then we eat together once everyone is served. Likewise, cups are served to everyone and then we drink together. The cup contains grape juice. In addition to bread, we offer gluten free wafers. It is a great honor to serve one another, to draw close to Christ’s presence, to give thanks for our community, and to pray for wholeness and sustenance for all God’s people.
